Today's wine is one I just brought into the store and really have been impressed with. A blend of 60% Shiraz and 40% Carmenere from Chile, this wine isn't as big as you think it would be. Pouring a nice dark purple it has lots of fruit on the nose, most notably cherry and plum with some pepper coming from the Shiraz. On the palate this is definitely fruit forward with a velvety mouth fell, the flavors tending towards chocolate covered cherries, black pepper and a bit of fig. This isn't a wine that blows people away but one that everyone can enjoy. It will pair well with barbecue, Hambergers or aged cheeses. Share it with someone tonight!
