Today's offering is another great value out of Chile. Coming from Santa Rita, the 120 line has been a best seller at the store, especially for weddings, banquets and the like. While searching the basement I found a few cases of the 2006 Merlot and decided to give it a try to see how it's holding up. Pouring a deep red even with the bottle age on it, it has plum, vanilla and a touch of herbs on the nose. On the palate this wine packs a surprising punch showing great red berry, some spice and nice tannin on the finish. We left the bottle open for an hour and tasted it again and it opened up nicely and softened on the finish. This is still a great wine at a great price and you should pick some up today! What would you like to see reviewed this week? Rose? White? Big Reds? Let me know!
