Today's offering is another dry rose, this one from Washington State. A collaboration between Charles Smith of K Vintners and Charles Smith Wines and Charles Bieler of Three Thieves and BIELER Pere et Fils, it was founded in 2008. The previous vintage got 90 pts from Wine Spectator and the current has not yet been rated but I have to believe that it will at least match last year's number. It pours a deep pink with fresh strawberry, pomegranate, and raspberry on the nose. On the palate the dry acidity is balanced by great strawberry, a hint of peach and a nice minerality. This is a great wine for ham, turkey or light pasta dishes. Shipped with a bumper sticker in the case that states "You can drink rose and still be a badass!", what's not to like?
Looks like a fun wine to try - what's the price?
